Cygnus Rock Band - Vixen's Vik (Fire and Tales)

I would bet on anything that this is also one of the many underrated Cygnus-songs.

Of course it's underrated, because you, dear average music listeners out there get freaked out when a theme is just a bit more complex than an AC/DC or Metallica song and since you're unwilling to dust off your sad, worn-out and tired brain cells, you waste your auditory meatuses and generally your entire life for mediocrity. And before you get offended that I called AC/DC or Metallica mediocre, no, I called YOU mediocre 😒

This song is beautiful. This song is complex. This song hits you with its wonderful, folk-ish theme. This song has hidden gems. This song has tiple. This song has tongue-in-cheek, playful, sweet lyrics.
This song is love. Period.

The intro hits hard. Beautifully written, played and arranged, folk-ish, but full-metal theme, that kind which brings tears to your eyes and you can't have enough of it.

You want all the instrument cams of the world. Drum cam (snare and kickdrum both!). Guitar cam. Bass cam. You want to worship these musicians.

The theme strides through your ears right into the heart. Your depression, anxiety, sadness are all gone, the windstorm of love and joy this song brings right with its first notes blows them away.
And then Deneb starts to sing. The rhythm section and its galloping

you feel the bass in your groints, backed by the heavy, very precise hammering of the drums - a shoutout to these wonderful musicians for giving an example of how these instruments should always interlock! - and you LOVE it

takes the humane voice on its back and it rides them like a victorious warrior. Ruxx takes over very soon, holding the rein of the music with his sharp, determined and powerful tenor.

But tell me, dear Reader, tell me, isn't it beautiful? Aren't these metaphors poetic, playful, alluring and teasing?... Don't they kidnap your heart right here?...

Vixen's fjord is the best I know
Rounded mountains like a moose's toe
Rich waters with constant flow
Safe haven for my drakkar to go

If you don't get it, then please, shut down the internet and go back to read Busytown. Thank you.

And then the two heart-warming, strong male voices join for the chorus leading the army of instruments, the tiple

the tiple is a 1 000 000-carat diamond in this song, the more you listen to it, the more you want it. Sweet, luscious, charming, enchanting, it slides into your ears, down to your heart, it grabs your soul, holds it tight, laughs, dances, the closer you allow it to yourself, the more seductive it gets. I don't know what the secret of these musicians can be, what they have in their hands and fingers that they make this magic. It doesn't even matter... may they never cease to make it. Ever 💓

setting a fire in the listener which the vocals just stir up. Your heart is throbbing, you forget all your pain and suffering. You reach out your hand for the song and it grabs you, pulls you to itself and hugs you tight, whispering "I will never let you go ever" into your ear.
It found out your most secret thought.

The bridge before the second stanza grabs you and places you up on its back to gallop together with it. Grab the rein, dear listener and hold it tight, because the two wonderful male voices return to fill your ears with velvet, warmth, love, poetry and passion. You won't be able to resist and you shouldn't.
It's too beautiful not to allow it to happen to you.

Honestly.

Freyja has blessed these waters of heaven
Its entrance she has shown
Open this fjord my sail full blown
My drakkar seeks berth in waters known

You can't get enough of it. Just admit it, dear listener. You shouldn't either. This is the hidden gem of the song, these lyrics, the massive abundance of beauty that is falling into your lap, which these musicians so generously give to you.
Take it. Feel it, let it happen. Love it. It's yours. Really. 💓

I promise you, when the chorus arrives, you'll be waiting for it, and you just jump into it, to sink into it, to let it absorb you, to penetrate into you, to possess you.
And you love it. You can't get enough. The galloping dance of the tiple, the humane voices, the guitar and the rhythm section push you into instant addiction. And when the breakdown arrives, when it all slows down, just to tease you, to tickle you playfully, to make you shiver and beg not to stop, then the song laughs, grabs your hand and pulls you into the whirlwind of the solo. The tiple, the guitar, the orchestration all hold you tight, then the electric instruments give way to the symphonic ones.
That's one of my secret favorite parts of this song.
The rhythm changes they bring along. That, dear Reader, that makes my heart race, my eyes wet and fills my heart with gratitude for these musicians.

You know, everyone has a kink. For some it's role play, for some it's fruits here and there, for some it's dressing into costumes. For me it's tempo changes, bass cam and percussions.
And tiple, of course.
Well, we are all different, right? 😁

And there's still something the song has to offer.
The symphonic orchestra and the guitar starts a musical dialogue.
When you thought it can't be any more beautiful, the song suddenly draws this magic out of its robe with a smile. "It's all yours" it says and you reach out, while you can hardly believe your ears. The song smiles at you and gently put it into your hands and you hold it tight while you can't hold back your tears anymore.
You're in love.
And finally all instruments join into one wonderful catharsis, and you fall into it with your arms and heart wide open.
You don't want to get out of it. Ever, ever, ever.

And it's still not the end.
The chorus returns with the divine male voices, the tiple, the galloping rhythm section and all the beauty, love, playfulness and fire it can offer. You bestride it and you don't hold the rein anymore. You trust it, you gave yourself to it. It possesses you and you know there's nothing in this world that is more beautiful which can happen to you.

These wonderful musicians also made a home office/quarantine video for this song back in 2021 for you all.
With tiple cam.
With bass cam.
With drum cam.
With keyboard cam.
With all the possible tidbits a fan can dream about.
Watch it, enjoy it, love it, put it on loop, get addicted!
Because these musicians deserve it, but you, too! 💘
